BoinxTV review of the Silicon Mountain Macintosh User's Group

In days-gone-by if you wanted to broadcast professional looking video interviews on the TV or Stream to the internet, you had to fork out big bucks for equipment and software. This ability was out of the reach of the average person. But now with BoinxTV, a computer, and a DV video recorder anyone can have their own TV studio and create professional looking videos.

What Maciverse says about You Gotta See This!

We’ve spent a few weeks with the app, and taken a number of pictures to see the results. We’re very impressed with the use of the app for taking panoramic type pictures and “action” pictures of our children running around. The App was a hit at our family vacation to the beach and we enjoyed the pictures You Gotta See This created of thunderstorms that rolled in during the evening. In fact, the images produced by You Gotta See This! remind me of the artistic work of a young artists selling his collages of famous Washington D.C. landmarks.

The simplicity and beauty of this app goes a long way and while at first many find it frustrating to not be able to create seamless panoramic photos, I think this app invites the user to expand their creativity with this type of photography.

I was pleasantly surprised by this iphone application. This application is $1.99 in the app store. What is it you ask? Well you gotta see it. [...] You can perform panoramic moves or crazy up and down motions to create incredibly neat looking shots. I went to St. Thomas USVI a couple of weeks ago and had this software on my iphone during my trip. I took some pretty neat shots with this app. For the overall ease of use and novelty of this application I give it 4 stars. You can create unique shots of your surrounding that will get plenty of Facebook and Twitter comments.

Shooting Photos with the iPhone 4 – What's New?
Wednesday, August 11, 2010 - Permalink
Back to the subject of panoramas, the addition of a gyroscope has made greater stitching accuracy possible by supplying apps with precise information about the difference in camera position between captures. One app that shows this potential is You Gotta See This! ($1.99), which takes a different approach to the visual presentation of panoramas: laying down individual photos, overlapping each other, to produce a haphazard collage-look reminiscent of David Hockney's work. But using it is delightfully simple: simply stretch out your arm and pan it about to capture a complete scene – you'll see the viewfinder moving about on the inside of a spherical grid, tracking your motions directly on a 1:1 scale.
